– On Sunday, June 23, 2024<\/strong>, Professor Noura Moussa<\/strong><\/span>, the university director, chaired a Directorate Council meeting attended by the university’s general secretary, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, directors of institutes, the task officer at the director’s office, university interface officials, the head of the digitization cell, the head of the university professional ethics cell, the head of distance learning, the head of the intensive language center, the English language coordinator, the head of the library, and the heads of pedagogy departments.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u25fe the meeting commenced at 08:45 AM and concluded at 03:45 PM, lasting 7 hours.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0fThe director welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of this meeting in conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the university’s work across all its departments and officials, particularly as her tenure as the university director is approaching one year and two months. She highlighted the need to acknowledge the efforts, positive achievements, and areas for improvement, as well as to establish mechanisms to avoid recurring issues at the vice rectorates, faculties, institutes, interfaces, and other centers of responsibility.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Before giving the floor to the attendees, she insisted on presenting the reports clearly and discussing them with genuine transparency and objectivity.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting began with the presentation of the foresight vice rectorate’s report:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Foresight Vice Rectorate<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25feThe Vice Rector for Foresight presented a summary of his department’s work and the significant advancements made at the university under the director’s and local authorities’ guidance. He provided clear indicators showing improvements in infrastructure, such as the new university campus, interfaces, and an auditorium nearing completion, as well as the Faculty of Economics close to being handed over.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He also presented figures indicating increased financial allocations for investment and high consumption rates of these funds. The director emphasized the importance of maintaining and monitoring the university’s assets, particularly the new campus, showcasing a detailed report with images of the 8000-seat pedagogical pole at the beginning of 2023 and the complete equipment of 5000 seats by the vice rectorate.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Vice Rectorate for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25aa\ufe0e PRFU projects, with a recommendation from the director to prioritize university-affiliated teams rather than including external members to serve the university’s interests.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa\ufe0e The Purchasing 50 accounts for anti-plagiarism software to be distributed among faculties.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Vice Rectorate for Pedagogy<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25fe The director listened to a detailed report on the pedagogy for the current academic year, starting from the zero-paper registration process by ministry recommendations to the number of students received, external and internal university transfers, the number of international students, academic mobility, RFID cards, and the number of new university departments. The director focused on resolving pending issues to ensure the delivery of all first-cycle certificates within the week, asserting her responsibility as the university’s chief pedagogue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Vice Rectorate for External Relations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25fe The director listened to a presentation by the Vice Rector summarizing the activities of his department. He highlighted the university’s notable achievements in national and international rankings, emphasizing the clear strategy set by the director and the administrative staff to enhance the university’s visibility and standing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

General Secretariat<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Digitization Cell<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The head of the digitization cell presented a detailed report on the cell’s contributions to digitizing the university, supporting university interfaces, developing platforms like Koha for libraries, and other specialized university services. The director discussed with him the broader vision for digitizing the university, emphasizing the need for tools to support this effort in coordination with the foresight vice rectorate. She assured her continued oversight and support for joint efforts to digitize the university and thanked the cell head for his consistent efforts.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

University Interfaces<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The director listened to detailed reports from university interface officials, including the incubator director, the entrepreneurship development center director, the university\/business liaison director, and the technology and innovation support center director. The reports covered various activities, such as awareness days, training sessions, local and national participation, current situation analysis, and future projections for making the university a leader in entrepreneurship and project incubation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Distance Learning Cell<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The director discussed with the cell head the university’s position on distance learning, the extent of mastery over its techniques, the quality of its performance, the number of uploaded lectures, and the trained faculty members. The director emphasized the importance of the distance learning file as a critical priority for the university in the near and distant future.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professional Ethics Cell<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The director listened to the cell head’s vision of the university’s general situation and recent achievements. The cell head expressed optimism about the current and upcoming periods, highlighting good indicators for the university environment. She confirmed the cell’s readiness to support these positive efforts. She outlined promising programs for the cell, which may start next season with important meetings and conferences to support the university community.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Central Library<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The library head presented a detailed report on the library’s activities, exhibitions, the number of new books, and the efforts to implement the Koha system, considered the first of its kind in Algerian libraries regarding precision and ease of use. She also outlined the library’s plans for book lending and deposit. The director urged the deans to ensure that master’s theses are uploaded to the DSpace platform to enhance the university’s visibility after verifying the quality and originality of the work using specialized programs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Intensive Language Center<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666\ufe0f The director listened to the center head’s report on the center’s activities and the progress of scheduled training sessions for university and external staff, students, and faculty members.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Faculty Deans and Institute Directors<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udd38 The deans and directors clarified and commented on the reports, each addressing their respective faculties and institutes. This enriched the discussion, making it clear, beneficial, and corrective for disputed or improperly executed points, in line with the director’s recommendations for the importance of the meeting and an actual evaluation of the reports with accurate and objective transparency.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, before concluding the meeting, the director thanked everyone for their efforts, starting with the general secretary, vice-rectors, faculty deans, institute directors, interface heads, and other key university centers, including digitization, distance learning, the professional ethics cell, the English language, the language center, the central library, and all university employees, workers, department heads, engineers, and security personnel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She called for further efforts to serve the university, elevate it to the ranks of leading universities, maintain achievements, and work on improving the quality of education and scientific research.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
