The Literature and Society module examines how literature reflects, critiques, and shapes societal values, norms, and issues. Through the study of diverse texts—spanning novels, poetry, drama, and other forms—students will analyze how literature engages with themes such as class, gender, race, power, identity, and social change. The module considers the ways in which authors respond to their historical and cultural contexts, as well as how literature influences public thought and societal movements.
