The Surface Chemistry course in the third year of the undergraduate program focuses on the study of phenomena occurring at interfaces, such as surface tension, adsorption, and heterogeneous catalysis. Students learn to characterize surfaces and understand and apply adsorption isotherms (such as Freundlich, Langmuir, and BET) for practical applications, such as pollutant removal. The program also covers the thermodynamic aspects of surfaces and chemical kinetics in catalysis.
