The present online course titled 'Sociolinguistics' destined for Master 1 EFL students at the Department of English, University Of Souk-Ahras, Algeria. It explores how language functions in social contexts. A myriad of topics will be examined such as language variation, language and identity, language policy, language attitudes, code-switching, bilingualism, multilingualism and most importantly the sociolinguistic realities of the Algerian context. Master 1 EFL students will, hopefully, develop a deeper understanding of how language shapes and is shaped by everyday communication, power, education and culture through engaging online lectures, meaningful discussions ,and interactive activities.
