Abstract
This study aims to explore the implementation of tasks for the active engagement of third-year LMD students in English literature classes at Mohamed Cherif Messaadia University in Souk-Ahras. The study seeks to highlight the importance of tasks in teaching literature, demonstrate their effectiveness in engaging students, and investigate students\' responses towards them. The research questions focus on the extent to which tasks enhance students\' active engagement, how students respond to task implementation in terms of interaction with the teacher and un-derstanding of the literature class, and the most appropriate way to implement tasks and the types that would be most effective. The research hypotheses suggest that implementing tasks can actively engage students, improve their attitudes towards literature and positive effect on their active engagement. The study will employ observation and experiment as research tools to collect data. The findings of this study can contribute to improving teaching methods in literature classes and enhancing students\' active engagement.
