2.2.1- In 2023, the University of Souk Ahras, in coordination with the Directorate of University Services, conducted a partial measurement of the amount of spoiled food and expired food in storage facilities.

2.3.1 – in 2023,The University of Souk Ahras is implementing the Algerian state program on providing free meals for students. The university has a central dining hall in addition to five other dining facilities spread across student residences. Meals are free, with a nominal subsidized fee of 1.2 DZD / 0.007 euros, all aimed at ensuring food security for students.
2.3.2 – In 2023, Souk Ahras University, in coordination with the Social Services Committee, worked on providing mobile food banks within the university campus, in addition to dedicated food and beverage clubs inside the campus and residences. All of this was done to ensure food security for students and university staff and to prevent hunger within the university and dormitories.
2.3.3 – In 2023, Souk Ahras University, in coordination with the University Services Directorate, worked on providing sustainable food options for all members of the campus, including plant-based food choices.
2.3.4 – In 2023, the University of Souk Ahras worked through its doctors and veterinarians to ensure the provision of healthy food at a reasonable price of (1.2 DZD / 0.007 euros) per meal for students, and (1.4 DZD / 0.009 euros) per meal for employees. The veterinarians monitor the food, ensuring its health and expiration date before it is directed for consumption. In addition to the dining halls at the university residences, there are food banks in the form of mobile units to ensure hunger prevention, offering affordable prices.
