The present course is an initiation into phonetics, a branch of micro-linguistics concerned with studying speech sounds. It is destined to Algerian first year licence EFL students at the University of Souk-Ahras. The course aims at enabling the target learners to identify the main basic concepts and notions in relation to phonetcs.
