It aims to develop quantitative methods for predicting the magnitude or likelihood of events such as floods. The study involves forecasting flood discharges based on long-term flow records or rainfall data and applying various hydrological modeling approaches to establish rainfall–runoff relationships, particularly for predictive purposes or for use in ungauged basins.
