Spectroscopic Analysis Methods is a core analytical chemistry module that introduces the fundamental principles and practical applications of modern spectroscopic techniques. The module focuses on the interaction between electromagnetic radiation and matter and its use in qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis. It covers UV–Visible spectroscopy, atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H and ¹³C NMR), and mass spectrometry. Emphasis is placed on spectral interpretation, instrumental operation, and the combined use of spectroscopic methods for molecular and elemental characterization in chemical, environmental, biological, and industrial contexts.
