Algeria is currently facing serious pollution problems. Indeed, pollution caused by the discharge of untreated industrial wastewater, emissions of harmful gases, the production of hazardous waste, deforestation, desertification, and ecosystem degradation pose serious environmental problems. Thus, the state of the environment has become very worrying in Algeria in recent years. Given this alarming situation, all stakeholders in environmental protection are aware of the need for urgent intervention within the framework of an environmental policy, by fully implementing existing legislation, while also leveraging the contribution of civil society organizations to achieve effective environmental protection. Hence the need to adopt a new approach based on consultation, communication, and the participation of all sectors and various institutional, private, and civil society actors at all levels in order to effectively protect the environment in Algeria. To what extent can we consider that environmental protection policy in Algeria has been successful? What measures has Algeria taken in this policy? And has the effectiveness of the resources deployed to strengthen these measures been proven?
