ملخص المقال

This work is devoted to the study of adhesion of the Enterococcus faecalis bacterium. Our stock was isolated from teeth, attacked of pulpar gangrene. The adhesion of Enterococcus faecalis was studied under conditions of aerobiose and anaérobiose, on two materials; glass and polystyrene.

Then we studied influence acidity of the medium of suspension on the quantity of the
bacteria which adhere. We worked in mediums of suspension: acid, neutral and basic. The effect of the ionic force was also studied; we worked with various concentrations of CaCl2.
The quantification of the adhered bacteria was made by the method of the purple crystal.
The hydrophobicity of microorganism was calculated by adhesion to solvents (MATS).

This study showed a reduction in adhesion from the acid medium to the basic medium
while passing by the neutral medium, that it is on glass or of course polystyrene, under
conditions of aerobioses or anaerobioses, knowing that the growth of the bacterium
believes with the increase in the pH. The lowering of the rates of adhesion with the increase in the pH after comparative interpretation with the bibliography is due to the effect of the pH on lowering the hydrophobicity of the bacterial cells. The presence of the bivalent ions Ca++ in the solution generated a major reduction in the rates of adhesion.
