A call for applications, including the application form, has been launched by the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC) to establish a reserve list of research assistants in public international law.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in public international law or a Master’s degree with at least two years of professional experience in public international law. Proficiency in English, French, or Spanish is required (written and oral). Knowledge of another official UN language, particularly Arabic, is an asset.

The application form (UN P.11) must be completed by the candidate and submitted with the relevant documents attached (CV, samples of academic publications, and a cover letter) to the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs at the following address: (ola-codification@un.org), no later than April 15, 2025.

Selected candidates will be placed on a reserve list for three years and may be called upon as needed by the ILC.

Applications will be reviewed three times per year: April 15, June 15, and August 15. Remuneration will be according to the United Nations rules for consultants (ST/AI/2013/4).
