As part of the dissemination for the benefit of the academic and research community, we are pleased to enclose a copy of the call for papers published on the website of the African Union Commission (AUC) – Department of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Mineral Resources (ETTIM), inviting African researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students to submit original, evidence-based papers in preparation for the 7th Congress of African Economists (CAE), to be held in Libreville, Gabon, from November 10 to 12, 2025.
Organized under the theme “Investing in Infrastructure for Productive Transformation in Africa,” the Congress aims to encourage evidence-based research and discussions on infrastructure financing, quality, and sustainability, while promoting innovative strategies to address infrastructure gaps in Africa.
Please note that the three best papers will be awarded prizes at the Congress. These three papers will be published by the AU Commission in the “African Integration and Development Review.” The other relevant selected papers will be published in the “Proceedings of the Congress.”
Furthermore, the costs associated with the participation of the three authors of the selected papers at the Congress will be covered by the AU Commission. If a paper is written by a group of individuals, the AU Commission will cover the participation of a single author.
The deadline for submitting papers is Friday, September 5, 2025.
Also, for follow-up purposes, I would be grateful if you could provide us with the list of researchers (authors and co-authors) who will be submitting papers, as well as their titles, no later than Sunday, September 7, 2025.
