Abstract

Maintaining air quality necessarily involves the detection and estimation of global
atmospheric pollution. The establishment of a mapping based on iso - pollution areas and classes of
sensitivity lichenic species on a scale of pollution in the study area. In our work, we used a
quantitative approach based on the combination of two methods based on the calculation of a
pollution index obtained from mathematical formulas that incorporate various parameters related to
the lichen flora. For the same zone of study, we applied two types of index poleotolerance index
(I.P) which we have compared with the atmospheric purity index (A.P.I). These two methods allow
by no means a direct correspondence with physical - chemical measures of the pollution. They
allow estimating the global atmospheric pollution in relative value of each station studied. These
two indexes allowed us to establish cartography of the global atmospheric pollution of the city of
Skikda and petrochemical pole as well as the outlying suburbs of (Haddaiek, Hamadi Krouma
Hamrouche Hamoudi, Larbi Ben M'Hidi).
