Abstract :
The economic and trade relations with the European countries are one of the most important relations between the Arab countries in general and Algeria in particular due to historical considerations and geographical location. The fact that the partnership formula established by the Barcelona Conference in 1995 is one of the most important formulas that found an acceptable resonance in many Mediterranean countries including Algeria that signed the Association Agreement with the European Community in 2002 to enter into force in 2005.
The agricultural sector in Algeria is one of the most affected sectors by the economic and trade relations between Algeria and Europe, in particularly with the private policies of the European Union in the field of agriculture which work side by side with the Union\'s successive expansions to Southern and Eastern Europe, this group of member countries considered an axis of great importance for Algerian agricultural exports, as well as its importance on food and agricultural imports of the Algerian state, the latter is also heavily reliant on technical and financial cooperation to develop and modernize the Algerian agricultural sector and help carry out several agricultural development projects, This study examine the Algerian-European economic and trade relations, analyzing the content of the partnership agreement and assessing its impact on the agricultural sector in Algeria, which highlight the positive aspects and the negative ones and then develop appropriate strategies to reduce the negative effects of these conventions, and the submission of proposals and lessons learned to the Algerian State in consultations sponsored by the Association Council under the articles of the Algerian European Partnership Agreement in order to reach an agreement with a safer content which gives a wide horizon for agriculture, and at the same time avoid Negative effects.
