This study aims to highlight the role of banking governance in improving the performance of risk management and raising its efficiency at the level of Algerian commercial banks. In order to achieve this, we have relied on statistical methods and using the spss and minitab programs. We conducted a study on a sample of commercial banks operating in Algeria The result of the study is as follows: There is an average commitment to implement the principles of banking governance, taking the responses of the sample members who were in agreement with the terms of the question axes, as well as the average correlation between their application and the level of development of risk management, Which corresponds to: rs = 0.53 at a significant level of 5% = α. It is positive, indicating that this relationship has a positive effect, This means that increasing the level of application of the principles of banking governance increases the level of risk management development at the level of Algerian commercial banks.
