Abstract

New bisymmetric tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs) containing conjugated substituents (thiophene-Ï€-pyridine) 4-6 were
synthesized by the condensation of TTF-thiophenecarboxaldehyde derivatives 1-3 with aromatic amines.
Electrochemical studies based on cyclic voltammetry demonstrated, for all these new molecules, electrochemical
characteristics favoring the formation of charge transfer complexes (CTCs). Measurements of electrical
conductivity at room temperature were carried out on compacted powder, for all the materials obtained. All the
CTCs synthesized were found to be semiconductors.
