Abstract
-
The study of the decline of cork oak aims to protect and cork oak is to assess the health status of the population of cork oak through dendrometric surveys and exploitation, as well as examining the trunk, crown , leaves and acorns. Our study was conducted at the forest Ouled Bechih to Souk Ahras on 3 sites, surveys show a slight defoliation with a normal color.
The calculation of the decay index (ID) in 2010 and 2011 shows a good general health status of the three observation stations (M'Ghassel, Kef and M'Kasser Gliàa). The examination of the trunk indicates a significant presence of wood-boring insects and flora lichenologique at 3 sites. Oozing blackish carbonaceous crusts, cracks and déhissances cork are also observed. Concerning the action of man is low and limited to a few injuries and some traces of fire.
Examination of leaves indicates strong action of leaf-eating insects attacking mainly sheet cleaners or perforating, we also noted the presence of three species of galls caused by insects biting and sucking sap that lay in the growths of leaves. Attacks by insects, fungi as well as galls were observed mainly on small leaves. On acorns, they were heavily attacked by moths (Cydia Cydia and fagiglandana splendana) and beetle (Curculio sp.) The significance of cork oak which occupies substantial areas to the east, we conducted an inventory of the insect fauna of the cork oak forest in Ouled Bechih to Souk Ahras on 3 sites, which we possible to draw up a list of species living in these two cork oak.
Our work on the inventory allows us to know and recognize insects dépréciateurs of cork oak forests, we highlighted 85 species spread over 09 orders (Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, Dermaptère, Hymenoptera, Neuroptera, Rhaphidioptères, Orthoptera, Lepidoptera) spread over 41 families, the most represented group is the order Coleoptera, which has 41 species, the high value of diversity and evenness reveals the richness and complexity of the studied population with a balance in the distribution of abundance species. So an important activity defoliators and borers in cork oak studied.
