Abstract
The aim of the study is to highlight the concept of efficiency in the financing of health services and to identify the most important requirements for their operation. It also looks closely at the reality of health financing in Algeria and its efficiency in hospital institutions, given to the multiple financing sources, it has to know which one is contributing in a hight efficiency and which one is non efficiency, thus, reinforcement the strength point and give up or treating weakness points. In order to capture aspects of the topic, the descriptive, analytical and statistical approach was adopted; The descriptive approach was found frequently in the theoretical chapters of the study, and the analytical approach was more visible in the field where the data for the study were analysed and the results from the statistical programmes used were analysed. The field study also relied on the statistical methodology when measuring the efficiency of the sample by means of the data envelope analysis programme, Also relied on the program IBM SPSS Statistics.22 and the program Microsoft Office Excel 2007 .
in assessing the efficiency of a group of hospital institutions located in the eastern part of Algeria during the 2019,2020 years, it has been concluded that efficiency has been affected by excess funds. the higher the volume of funding, the higher the waste and the lower the efficiency, the higher the financial resources do not always raise the level of health-related activities. It has also demonstrated that the contribution of social security is the least efficient source of funding, among others, to the financing of health services in Algeria. Therefore, the State must rationalise health expenditures by paying attention to the efficiency of its financing rather than reducing them to achieve better health outcomes, and without having to increase these expenditures by making optimal use of available resources.
