Abstract
Abstract
In order to identify the flora diversity existing at the Tiffech dam, and to determine the influence of abiotic factors (water and soil) on their abundance and distribution; a floristic inventory was carried out from December 2018 until January 2020 in four study stations.
In total, ninety-two terrestrial species dominated by the family of Asteraceaes and ten aquatic species dominated by the family of Poaceaes have been identified. The dam’s flora is manifested much more by herbaceous species.
The inventory was accompanied by a pedological study with physicochemical analyzes of water. The interpretation of the existing relationship between plant species and their environments is then made by multivariate analyses; PCA, FCA and HCA. They made it possible to visualize the physico-chemical and biological structuring of the stations of the present study as well as to study the influence of previously mentioned parameters on the spatial distribution of terrestrial and aquatic vegetation.
The study showed that the soil magnesium content and nitrite influence the distribution of aquatic vegetation, while the rest of the parameters studied affect the distribution of terrestrial vegetation.
Keywords: Tiffech dam, floristic diversity, abiotic factors, soil, water, correlation.
