Abstract
The objective of this study is to clarify the role of the International Criminal Court in the
establishment of several victims\' rights. Given the growing number of victims of international
crimes, many issues have been raised about the available legal means to protect them, notably that their rights may not be compatible with the defendant\'s right to a fair trial. This is the case for the procedural rights, granted to the victim to guarantee his or her retribution, which may, nevertheless, encounter obstacles that ultimately block access to the right to retribution.
