Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of integrating the Development Goals in higher education and teachers\' attitudes towards this implementation. There is growing interest in integrating these goals into higher education curricula to empower students to achieve it. Education for sustainable development involves raising awareness of the opportunities to create local solutions, the willingness or desire to create those solutions, and the organizational skills to implement them on a case-by-case basis. As these lessons are integrated into academic curricula, the current research shows that there have been some attempts to implement Sustainable Development Goals in education; but this has come a long way to developing awareness among students. First, by analyzing the relevance of course content to the SDGs, to test the hypothesis that addressing teachers and students opinions and needs towards this implementation. Two main instruments we used an interview with English teachers and a questionnaire for first year English students. the present research consists of three chapters, the first chapter is about Sustainable development definition and general explanation, the second chapter about EFL learners teaching and learning that explains the importance of teaching foreign languages in general and English language in specific, the last chapter is dedicated for the field of investigation and data analysis.
