Abstract

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the appropriateness of the English textbook \"New Prospects\" for third-year students in all streams, focusing on teachers and learners. The central hypothesis being tested is that while the textbook has certain advantages, it also exhibits significant drawbacks that warrant attention, investigation, and improvement. Two research instruments are employed: a textbook content analysis using a checklist and a questionnaire distributed to third-year secondary school teachers. The participants for the questionnaire are randomly selected to gather their perspectives on the textbook. The teachers are surveyed to ascertain their opinions and attitudes regarding using the textbook. This study holds potential significance in providing valuable feedback to syllabus designers and textbook authors, aiding them in developing improved materials in the future. By highlighting the advantages and drawbacks of the \"New Prospects\" textbook, this evaluation aims to address pedagogical inquiries concerning its suitability as an English language teaching (ELT) resource
