Abstract

Abstract
The current study aims at investigating the effectiveness of using Grammarly software in improving the academic writing quality of third-year EFL students at Mohamed CherifMessaadia University, in Souk-Ahras. It also seeks to examine its persistent effect on learners\' writing accuracy in terms of the mechanics of writing, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. In pursuance of these objectives, two research methods are used. First, a pre-experiment method was conducted, where one experimental group, consisting of 18 conveniently selected participants, underwent four distinct phases, namely a pre-test, a treatment level, a test using Grammarly, and a post-test at the end of the experiment. Second, a post-treatment questionnaire comprised of 15 questions was administered to the same sample. The obtained findings unearthed that Grammarly software has a significant immediate impact on improving learners\' academic writing quality but no long-lasting effect on their accuracy. Based on these results, our hypotheses are confirmed. To this end, a number of accentuated recommendations and suggestions are proposed for further research.
