Abstract
The purpose of the current exploratory study is to demonstrate the efficiency of using youtube videos to enhance the speaking skill of second year EFL students at Mohammed Cherif Messaidia University in Souk-Ahras.To test the main hypothesis that suggests the possibility of improving the speaking skill through the use of youtube videos, two instruments were used: a students’ questionnaire and a structured interview with 05 oral expression teachers. The questionnaire provided to second year EFL students to explore their attitudes about using youtube videos in order to develop their speaking and overcome their difficulties. Besides the teachers’ interview that investigates how this tool is integrated by teachers and what is their attitudes towards their incorporation of youtube videos. The obtained results were confirmed the hypothesis established at the beginning of the study. It prooved that youtube videos reflect positively on students’ oral performance and enhance their speaking skill to a high level.
