Abstract
From the beginning of the sixties of the last century, the English for specific purposes (ESP) has developed rapidly in Algeria, especially in the recent few years, to constitute one of the most important areas of teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) today. ESP aims mainly at designing a course which is noticed to be seriously needed at of department of Management, (Master one Students of Finance) at Mohamed Cherif Messaadia University (Souk-Ahras). Therefore this research aims at suggesting a course design directed to students of Management at the University of Souk-Ahras. This research analyzes the needs of the target group (Master one students of Finance in the Department of Management). A sample of course on Finance and evaluation of that course will be provided. Two instruments that are used in this investigation to collect data: a questionnaire for students and classroom observation. The potential significance of this study is to confirm the basic needs and preferences of most students of an ESP course that focuses on the speaking and the writing skills (productive skills) as priorities especially the speaking skill, and then reading and listening (receptive skills), in addition to their every day needs regarding terminologies for specific use when reading their scientific articles and texts to be needed for their future careers.
