Abstract
Academic writing and language performativity in classroom serves as a tool of communication that conveys a particular knowledge in the teaching and learning process. Writing academically and performing language helps students analyse, convey understanding, think critically, and helps in expressing feeling and thoughts; however students in classroom have certain needs that sometimes can enable them to produce. This study aims to facilitate the students\' academic writing and language performativity by putting the emphasis on their needs; specifically it investigates whether addressing the needs of the learners has an impact on their academic writing and language performativity. To test the hypothesis that addressing students\' needs has a pivotal role to their academic writing and language performativity, two main instruments used an interview with English teachers and a questionnaire for second year English students. the present research consists of three chapters, the first chapter is going to be about students\' needs that explains how can teachers understand and meet their students\' needs, the second chapter about academic writing and language performativity that explains reasons for teaching writing and the didactics of writing and the development of written language production, the last chapter is dedicated for the field of investigation and the analysis.
