Abstract

Abstract

In a fast-changing and dynamic world, pupils are bound to acquire core competencies to be able to function effectively in the 21st century. The current study is descriptive correlational that aims to investigate the implementation of Project based learning that aligns with the demands of the new technological-oriented era as well as the attitudes of secondary school EFL teachers and second-year pupils towards the effect of promoting PBL strategies with information and communication technologies (ICTs) on learners in the Algerian classroom. It is firstly hypothesized that there are numerous benefits to promoting project-based learning in EFL classes. Second, EFL teachers and pupils will have favorable attitudes toward using ICTs to enhance PBL exploration in the EFL classroom. To achieve the study\'s goal, a participant classroom observation, as well as two types of data collection tools, namely a pupils\' questionnaire and an interview with six EFL teachers from different Secondary Schools in the province of Souk-Ahras, were chosen as data collection tools. The results revealed that the majority of teachers and pupils agreed on the importance of using the PBL strategy with ICTS in enhancing learners\' self-autonomy, motivation, and creativity, in addition to the Project Based Learning affectivity for improving learners\' active self-directed learning.
