ABSTRACT:
Title of the study:\"The Relationship Between the Poles of the Didactic Triangle in Physical Education and Sports Lesson in Secondary School.\"
1-Study Objective:The study aimed to investigate the relationship between the three didactic poles, namely the epistemological pole, the pedagogical pole, and the psychological pole, in the context of physical education and sports teaching in Algerian secondary education. Additionally, it aimed to explore differences in these poles based on certain variables from the perspectives of teachers and students.
2- Study Hypotheses:
2-1 General Hypothesis:
There is a correlational relationship between the didactic poles of physical education and sports in secondary education.
2-2 Specific Hypotheses:
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic transposition in physical education and sports according to secondary school teachers based on study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school).
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic contracting in physical education and sports according to secondary school teachers based on study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school).
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic representations in physical education and sports according to secondary school teachers based on study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school).
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic transposition in physical education and sports according to secondary school students based on study variables (gender, academic level).
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic contracting in physical education and sports according to secondary school students based on study variables (gender, academic level).
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic representations in physical education and sports according to secondary school students based on study variables (gender, academic level).
3- Study Methodology:The study utilized a descriptive survey methodology.
4-Study Sample: The sample was selected using a stratified probability method and consisted of 103 secondary school teachers and 465 students from three southeastern Algerian states: Touggourt, Ouargla, and El Meghaier.
5- Study Instruments:The researcher designed two questionnaires to measure the levels of didactic poles. One questionnaire was for teachers, consisting of 64 items distributed across three main dimensions representing the three didactic poles. These dimensions further broke down into 7 sub-dimensions. The other questionnaire was designed for secondary school students, comprising 40 items distributed across three dimensions representing the three didactic poles, based on what students perceived and practiced in physical education and sports.
6-Study Results:
- There is a weak and statistically significant correlational relationship between the didactic transposition pole and the didactic contract pole among secondary school physical education teachers. However, for students, the relationship is above average and statistically significant.
- There is a moderate and statistically significant correlational relationship between the didactic transposition pole and the didactic representation pole among secondary school physical education teachers. For students, this relationship is also moderate and statistically significant.
- The correlational relationship between the didactic contract pole and the didactic representation pole is very weak and not statistically significant for secondary school physical education teachers. However, for students, there is a moderate and statistically significant correlational relationship.
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic transposition in physical education and sports and its various dimensions among secondary school teachers, considering study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school).
- Secondary school teachers have a high level of didactic transposition.
There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic contract in physical education and sports overall and most of its dimensions among secondary school teachers, considering study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school), except for the non-similarity aspect. Statistically significant differences were observed in this aspect based on the experience variable, favoring teachers with significant experience, and for the contradictory aspect, statistically significant differences were found based on the variable of teaching experience in middle school, favoring teachers who taught in middle school.
- Secondary school teachers have a moderate level of didactic contract.
There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic representations in physical education and sports among secondary school teachers, considering study variables (experience, academic qualifications, teaching experience in middle school).
Secondary school teachers have a high level of didactic representations.
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic transposition in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the gender variable.
- Statistically significant differences were found in the level of didactic transposition in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the academic level variable, favoring both first-year and third-year students over second-year students.
- Didactic transposition in physical education classes, according to students, is generally rated as high.
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic contract in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the gender variable.
- Statistically significant differences were found in the level of didactic contract in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the academic level variable, favoring both first-year and second-year students over third-year students.
- Didactic contract in physical education classes, according to students, is generally rated as high.
- There are no statistically significant differences in the level of didactic representations in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the gender variable.
- Statistically significant differences were found in the level of didactic representations in physical education and sports among secondary school students based on the academic level variable, favoring both first-year and third-year students over second-year students.
- Didactic representations in physical education classes, according to students, are generally rated as high.
