Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of adopting the skill-based approach inteaching English for Science teachers at the Language Center of Mohamed Cherif MessaadiaUniversity. This research aims to improve teachers\' proficiency in English for specific purposesparticularly in their daily teaching activities. The study hypothesizes that using skill-basedapproach in teaching English for scientific teachers will enhance scientific teaching experienceusing English language. The study was conducted through an exploratory descriptive research,utilizing a mixed method to collect both quantitative and qualitative data , A quasi-experimentaldesign is adopted with a non-randomized sample of Teachers of Scientific streams learningEnglish language at the Language Center of Mohamed Cherif Messaadia Souk ahras . Aquestionnaire was administered to twelve teachers (n=12) to gather quantitative data, andqualitative data was obtained through pre-test and post-test instruments. Based on the initialfindings, it is clear that skill-based approach is a very powerful tool to elevate the self-confidenceand self-competence of teachers in using English for instructional purposes. In particular,teachers were able to express scientific ideas in English more effectively, participate moresubstantially in academic discussions, and exploit English-language resources more effectively.Finally,basedonthefindings,somerecommendationsandpedagogicalimplicationssuggestedtoensurethatteachersareequippedwiththenecessaryskillsthatmatchwiththeirscientificfield.
