Abstract
Abstract
This study delves into the challenges faced by third-year EFL students at Mohamed Cherif Messaadia University in Souk-Ahras when translating polysemous words from English into Arabic. It aims to identify the primary difficulty encountered by these students in the translation process and to examine how cultural and contextual differences impact the translation of polysemous words. Additionally, the study hypothesizes that the main obstacle for these students lies in the selection of the appropriate meaning based on context and suggests that linguistic disparities between English and Arabic may affect word usage in translation. This study will employ a survey and a test to collect data about this topic
