The relationship between Orientalism and Arabic Literature still stimulates an ongoing debate among both occident and Arab scholars who agree thatunlike Ancient Arabic literature which pay the orientalists’ attention the contemporary literature does not achieve a full recognition and acceptance among academic western scholars, Charles Pellat –as an example- states that he has been interested in Ancient Arabic literature but the Modern one is only an European literature in Arabic letters.
Consequently, (Roua Fikria) addresses its 7th issue(February 2018) to focus on Orientalist texts that are relevant to understanding how Arabic Contemporary Literature has been represented and studies by Western scholars, (Roua Fikria) ‘s 7th issue will bring together the eminent scholars to discuss these issues and axes:
