Abstract

This study examines the future of hybrid learning in Algerian universities post-COVID-19, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the area of student engagement in the department of English language at Mohammed Cherif Messadia in Souk Ahras, this exploratory. descriptive research utilized a mixed method to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. Initially, a questionnaire that involved 14 questions, was administered to 30 out of 95 third-year English students. Secondly, A structured interview was conducted with 4 EFL teachers who were selected purposely for their experience with hybrid learning. The results obtained confirmed the hypothesis plus it revealed the significant challenges that faced student engagement in hybrid settings, technological barriers and adaptation issues as an example for that. However, the study focuses on the potential opportunities of hybrid learning as it suggests strategic interventions to improve student engagement and learning outcomes emphasizing continuous evaluation and adaptation to hybrid learning strategies.
