Abstract
This study aims to investigate the implementation of a book club to enhance the problem-solving skills of Third year LMD students in English literature classes at Mohamed Cherif Messaadia University in Souk-Ahras. It seeks to highlight the significance of a book club as a complementary strategy in literature education, demonstrating its effectiveness in strengthening student’ problem-solving abilities, and evaluate students’ responses to such initiative. The research questions center on the degree to which a book club implementation empowers students’ problem-solving skills, their discussion skills, and therefore, a positive engagement. The research hypothesis suggests that participating in a book club has a positive effect on EFL student’s problem solving skills; thus, it can promote their academic performance in literature module. The study employs a qualitative and quantitative method, along with a semi structured survey, observation sessions, and an experiment as research tools for data collection. The outcomes of this study may contribute to enhancing teaching methods in literature classes and empowering students’ problem-solving skills. With this intent, several recommendations and suggestions are proposed for further research.
