Content	TChapter 1: Electrical Risks (2 weeks) Definition and purpose of occupational safety, Legend and history of electrical risk, Standardization organizations, Statistics on electrical accidents. Chapter 2: Nature of Electrical Accidents and Dangers of Electric Current (3 weeks) Classification (direct and indirect effects of electric current), Human body impedance, Parameters influencing electric current on the human body, Pathophysiological effects of electric current passage, Electric shock without loss of consciousness, Electric shock with loss of consciousness (ventricular fibrillation). Chapter 3: Protective Measures (6 weeks) Introduction, Personal protection, Regulations, Safety measures, Work on de-energized systems, Work in the vicinity of electrical installations, Individual and collective protections, Protection against direct and indirect currents, Safety voltage, Earthing system (grounding scheme), Effects of electric and magnetic fields, Equipment protection, Protection devices (types and reliability of devices), Low, medium, and high voltage indoor installations, Portable equipment, Verifications and controls. Chapter 4: Safety Measures against Indirect Effects of Electric Current (2 weeks) Fires, Hazardous substances, Explosions, Noise and vibrations (Definition, standards, and techniques for noise control). Chapter 5: Rescue Measures and First Aid (2 weeks) Proper response to electrical accidents, First aid, Assisted ventilation (mouth-to-mouth and Sylvester methods), External cardiac massage, Care for burn injuries.
