Content | Educational objectives: This standard aims to deepen students’ knowledge of the forms of correspondence, influences, and exchanges between literatures, the impact of Western literary schools of thought on modern and contemporary Arabic literature, and to clarify the differing critical positions regarding issues of influence and influence between Arabic literature and Western literature. Content of the course: Lecture vocabulary: 1- A general overview of modern and contemporary international literature. 2- Channels of communication between Arabic literature and world literature: translation. 3- Awards 4- Human values. 5- Film quote. 6- Contemporary intellectual and creative currents, intellectual mediator, general overview and models: 7- Existentialism 8- Surrealism 9- Marxism 10- Selected models/various readings in evidence of the encounter of Arabic literature with world literature: One Thousand and One Nights and the Italian Decameron. 11- Christ Between: José Sarmago, Nikos Kazantzakis, Elias Khoury, and Muhammad Kamel Hussein. 12- Faust between Goethe and Ali Ahmed Bakathir. 13- Existentialism between Sartre, Camus, and Mahmoud Al-Masadi. 14- Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita and Wasini Al-Araj. Application vocabulary: 1- The components of universality: humanity 2- A reading of models 3- Nobel and Booker 4- A reading of the models of Les Misérables in Arab cinema and literature 6- A reading of general models 7- Sartre and Al-Masadi 8- Models of the new Arab and international narrative 9- A reading of Examples 10 - Selected models/various readings in evidence of the encounter of Arabic literature with world literature: One Thousand and One Nights and the Italian Decameron. 11- Christ Between: José Sarmago, Nikos Kazantzakis, Elias Khoury, and Muhammad Kamel Hussein. 12- Faust between Goethe and Ali Ahmed Bakathir. 13- Existentialism between Sartre, Camus, and Mahmoud Al-Masadi. 14- Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita and Wasini Al-Araj. Evaluation method: Lectures are evaluated via an exam at the end of the semester, while the evaluation of directed works is continuous throughout the semester.
