Content | Teaching objectives: This standard aims to introduce students to Maghreb literature written in the French language in general, and Algerian literature in particular, and to demonstrate the impact of social and political transformations on Maghreb literature written in the French language, as well as the most prominent techniques of this literature, and the peculiarities of this style of writing. Content of the course: Lecture vocabulary: 1- Maghreb literature written in the French language, a historical introduction 2- Maghreb literature written in the French language and the colonial heritage. -3 From colonial literature to the Maghat War. 4- Dilemmas of writing in another language. 5- Problems of belonging and identity. -6 Readings and analyzes of Maghreb texts written in French. -7 Muhammad Deeb. -8 Malek Haddad. -9 Asia Jabbar. -10 Albert Memmi. -11 Kateb Yassin. -12 Idris Chraibi. -13 Al-Tahir bin Jammoun. 14- Problems of acculturation and contexts for appreciating Maghreb literature written in French. Application vocabulary: 1 - Texts about the colonial experience 2 - The colonial heritage as subject and subject 3 - Language as a medium or an end: a reading in selected models 4 - The forms of alienation: a reading in selected models 5 - The presence of youth and in absence or absence: a reading in selected models 6 - Reading In selected examples - 7 reading of texts by Muhammad Deeb. -8 Reading of texts by Malek Haddad. 9-A reading of Alsia Djebar’s texts. 10-A reading of Albert Memmi’s texts. -11 reading of Kateb Yassin’s texts. -12 readings of Idris Chraibi’s texts. -13 Reading of the texts of Al-Tahir bin Jumoun. -14 reading of selected texts. Evaluation method: Lectures are evaluated through an exam at the end of the semester, while the evaluation of directed work is continuous throughout the semester.
