Content | Part I: Adsorption processes (6 weeks) Chapter 1. Main industrial adsorbents, selection criteria, regeneration methods, main industrial applications. Chapter 2: Adsorption dynamics (preceded by a reminder of the general laws of physical adsorption). Chapter 3. Batch processes. Chapter 4. Adsorption separation processes - Pressure swing. -Temperature modulation. Part Two: Membrane separation processes Chapter 1: General points and definitions (1 week) Chapter 2. Membranes (3 weeks) Structure, characterisation and membrane modules of industrial installations. Chapter 3: Membrane separation techniques (5 weeks) Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, Reverse Osmosis and Electrodialysis. |
Evaluation | Continuous assessment: 40%; Exam: 60%. |
