Content | ..Chapter 1: Modeling and Simulation Methods of Power Semiconductors (2 weeks) Idealized characteristics of different types of semiconductors, logical equations of semiconductors, simulation methods for static converters. Chapter 2: Switching Mechanisms in Static Converters (3 weeks) Principles of natural switching, principles of forced switching, calculation of switching losses. Chapter 3: Design Methods for Static Converters with Natural Switching (2 weeks) Switching rules, definition of the switching cell, different types of sources, power exchange rules, direct and indirect converters (example: study of a cycloconverter). Chapter 4: Design Methods for Static Converters with Forced Switching (3 weeks) PWM Inverter Sinusoidal absorption rectifier PWM voltage regulator Switched-mode power supplies Chapter 5: Multi-level Inverter (3 weeks) Multi-level concept, topologies, comparison of multi-level inverters. PWM control techniques for single-phase and three-phase impedance source inverters. Chapter 6: Power Quality in Static Converters (3 weeks) Harmonic pollution caused by static converters (case studies: rectifier, voltage regulator). Study of harmonics in voltage inverters. |
