Abstract

In this study, we have tried to demonstrate the importance of Textual Linguistics in light of the efforts of contemporary Arab linguists, who have shown interest in modern linguistic approaches and criticisms.
We tried to explore the practical means resulting from textual linguistics, while studying the corpus chosen to achieve its degree of cohesion and coherence.
In fact, we have opted for the discourses of "El Hadjadj Ibn Youssef Ettakafi" to better shine the procedures proposed by textual linguistics, and to know the relationship between linguistic systems and meanings (meaning).
Our work is structured according to a plan; divided into an Introduction, a theoretical chapter, two practical chapters, conclusion followed by an appendix.
In the theoretical chapter, we have approached the birth of textual linguistics, and its function to the interference of knowledge and disciplines, as we have enlightened certain terms relating to textual linguistics: text, discourse, cohesion , consistency, and pragmatics ....
In the first chapter, we approached the textual formalization through the means of cohesion, the reference, the coordinations, the repetition ... We also studied the semantic coherence in the corpus through these means.
The last (02nd) chapter is devoted to contextual formalization where we have discussed the context of the word, the context of the sentence in Elhadjedj's discourses, we have tried to know the limits of conversational implication and speech acts. used in these discourses.
