Abstract
-
Eden our study, the Ammoides verticillata medicinal plant, procured from various bioclimatic regions localized Souk Ahras area territories, was sub missed to ecological study, showing the similarity between the biometric characteristics of the individuals surveyed the existence of a single species
Ammoids verticillata was localized in 18 of the 26 communes of the Wilaya at different altitudes ranging from 553 m to 960 m. This plant grows on both bioclimatic (sub humid and semi-arid) floors on limestone or marl-limestone soils.
The phytochemical screening of the plant confirms the richness of this plant in phenolic compounds, terpene compounds and nitrogen compounds.
The essential oils extracted from the aerial part of the plant by hydro distillation showed an average yield of 1.64% for the Mechroha sample and 2.01% for those of Merahna.
The histological sections realized on the stem showed the presence of the secreting channels of the essential oils, which are characteristic of the Apiaceae family.
The chemical composition of its essential oils is determined by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results of the analysis showed that the oils studied consist mainly of thymol followed by gamma terpinene, o-cymene (beginning of flowering) para-cymene (end of flowering), thymol methyl ether and terpinene-4-ol.
The application of the essential oils of Ammoides verticillata on eight pathogenic bacterial germs showed a sensitivity variable with respect to the different concentrations used, whose inhibition diameters exceeding by far 50 mm were observed.
The antioxidant activity of Ammoïdes verticillata essential oil was recorded at IC50 of 62.758 ± 6.81μg / ml for the Mechroha region and 50.058 ± 2.65 μg / ml for Merahna by the method of trapping the DPPH radical, and for the method of reduction iron, an antioxidant activity of the order of 0.846 ± 0.01nm, 0.982 ± 0.04nm was recorded at the concentration 500 μg / ml for the E.O of Mechroha and Merahna respectively.
