In 2024, the University of Souk Ahras took part in the study day dedicated to sunflower cultivation, represented by the Director of the Institute of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in Taoura. The event was organized by the Directorate of Agricultural Services of the Wilaya, in coordination with the Agricultural Chamber, and held under the supervision of the Cevital Group.
Under the patronage of the Forest Conservation Authority, and in coordination with the Fauna and Flora Club, an educational seminar was organized to raise awareness about the importance of protecting plant and animal forest resources. The event was held at the Institute of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in Taoura, on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, in celebration of World Wildlife Day.

In 2024, University of Souk Ahras, in alignment with its formal agreement with the Forest Conservation Authority of Souk Ahras Province, actively collaborated to safeguard shared terrestrial ecosystems. This partnership reflects the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship and regional ecological resilience.

As part of its strategic outreach to the socio-economic environment, University of Souk Ahras through the Institute of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in Taoura, hosted a collaborative meeting with the Director of Agriculture for Souk Ahras Province and the Vice President of the Provincial Agricultural Chamber. The session was attended by the Director of the Institute, the Secretary General, and a university laboratory engineer.

The purpose of this engagement was to explore opportunities for strengthening institutional ties with the agricultural sector and to initiate future partnerships aimed at advancing sustainable development and applied research.

Since its founding, the University of Souk Ahras has implemented a formal institutional policy for the safe and responsible disposal of waste and hazardous materials generated by its educational and research laboratories. To ensure compliance with environmental standards and minimize ecological impact, the university annually launches public consultations to engage certified companies specializing in the technical treatment and burial of hazardous waste. This procedure is governed by national regulations and internal protocols, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustainability, risk mitigation, and responsible resource management.
