ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is the phytochemical and biological decryption of Retama monosperma (L.) Boiss. from the coastal dune area of the Echatt region located east of Annaba of Est Algeria. The aerial part of this plant was extracted by maceration with three solvents of increasing polarity.
Phytochemical screening revealed 28 constituents for the ethyl acetate extract, which corresponds to 98.17% of the total of the extract. It mainly consists of Ethyl palmitate (23.98%), Ethyl 9.alpha.-linolenate (15.79%), Ethyl linoleate (9.12), octadecadienoate (8.64%), Elaidic acid, methyl ester ( 8.34%), tert-Butyl palmitate (5.58%) and Ethyl stearate (3.48%) are the main components.
In addition, the CPG / SM made it possible to identify 11 compounds starting from the extract n-butanol (2) (April 2017), constitute 98.83% of the total of the extract, by the presence of mainly 11-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (50.31%); Palmitic acid, methyl ester (17.21%), 9.12- Linoleic acid, methyl ester (8.68%), Palmitic acid, butyl ester (8.36%), 10-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (3, 71%).
Finally, 7 substances were counted for the n-butanol extract (1) (month of December 2016), which represents 99.97% of the total amount of the extract, dominated by the presence of Elaidic acid, methyl este (56.77 %), Methyl palmitate (19.46%), Linoleic acid, methyl ester (10.31%), 1-Fluorodecane (4.21%) and Sparteine (3.58%).
The chemical analysis of the three extracts made it possible to identify the monoterpene hydrocarbons (carvacrol), also we find the alkaloids (sparteine) and the linoleic acids.
The phenolic content was determined by the universal Folin-Ciocalteu method, and the antioxidant activity was evaluated by the free radical test, 2,2-diphenyl-1 picrylhydrazyl. While the evaluation of the antimicrobial power of the extracts was determined by the agar diffusion method.
The butanolic extract of Retama monosperma has shown a total phenolic content of 0.425 mg EAG / 100 g for the beans and 0.874 mg EAG / 100 g for the leaves. The ethyl acetate extract showed a the greatest anti-free radical power (71.2 μg / ml) for the leaves and (84.7 μg / ml) for the seeds compared to the butanolic extract of the two drugs at a rate of 88.5 μg / ml and 105.25 μg / ml respectively.
The study of antimicrobial activity shows that the pure extract has a variable activity which differs depending on the strain tested. It has been shown to be inactive against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, while the yeast of Candida albicans is very sensitive.
The variability of the chemical composition and the synergy between the majority and minority components are the main factors of the biological properties.
