In 2024, the University of Souk Ahras actively engaged in partnerships with regional governmental bodies and non-governmental organizations to support policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through collaboration with the Algerian government and local NGOs, the university contributed to identifying sustainability challenges and co-developing strategic responses. In recent years, several formal agreements were signed with key regional actors in water resource management, renewable energy, dairy production, and animal care—demonstrating the university’s commitment to multi-sectoral cooperation and sustainable development.

In 2024, the University of Souk Ahras actively contributed to cross-sectoral dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by organizing and participating in national and international conferences, workshops, study days, and related activities. A key example is the university’s organization of  a virtual national conference held on December 11, 2024, entitled “The Pioneering University and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development: Global University Models and a Look at the Situation in Algeria.” This event reflected the university’s commitment to thought leadership and policy dialogue within the national and global sustainability landscape.

This commitment is reflected in the integration of sustainability-related content across curricula in all academic disciplines, as well as the introduction of specialized programs directly linked to the SDGs—such as the Master’s program in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development offered by the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
